Besides Cuzco the Incas capital, Ollantaytambo, Kenco, Tampumachay, Moray and Pisac are the most excellent exponents of stonemasonry in ancient Peru.

Ollantaytambo Peru is a citadel, located in the Urubamba region, located approximately 60 km northwest of Cuzco, at an altitude over 9000 feet above sea level. Its access entrance is flanked by a great number of terraces, the top that rather than have the aspect of an army fortification but for the reason based on its ornamentations, resembles more the looks of a temple, nevertheless it is probably the outmost stone craftsmanship that Incas ever did.

Kenco is a worshiping temple most likely also employed for astronomical observations, has a semi circular terrace with niche resembling seats, placed around a massive stone idol that now a days has it's from a little deteriorated but transmitted information points towards to a regenerative symbol related to solar worshiping.

Its proximity to Cuzco in a near by mountain from where Cuzco can be observed in its totality might had have some sort of light reflecting system to announce the sun eventualities.

Tampumachay is a very especial place where the water comes out of the mountain, this initial water source is canalized by two canals that pour the liquid into a fountain and from there it is distributed by other canals. This site is also a refined stone edification with a great number of man size niches at different levels linked by stairs denotes that is was built for ritual purposes.

For the reason that clear water pours from the mountain, mother earth and water is the symbol of life, this fact was important for the rituals for what the temple was made for.

Moray is probably a different system or way to observe the sky behavior and probably is the outmost or biggest sunken plaza in ancient Peru that comes from the most early cultural awakening more than a few thousand years before the Incas. Also appears to be a privileged place but of enormous concurrence but taking into account that only the Koricancha temple in Cuzco housed four thousand clergy men and in the area there were many other religious centers Moray was easily filled in certain annual astronomical events.

Pisac was the cemetery of the nobles, at the entrance in a mountain is a huge niche carved in the mountain stone walls, at the right side of this mountain was a garrison of troops that took care of the preservation of the place.

At the left are located a series of shrines with niches similar the Egyptian mastabas also made for burial purposes, these buildings are grouped conforming a complex of trapezoidal shape.

Below this is another set of constructions in half moon shale, reserved to the artisans who took care of all the funerary needs also estrange but very similar to Pharaonic Egyptian practices.
